Governance, Testing, & Training.

We must remember the fundamentals at every stage of the Workday lifecycle, from implementation to management, in order to ensure that things run smoothly.

That means having effective Governance to manage changes, Testing to ensure that any changes you make or Workday makes are tested and that your current functionality continues to work, and finally Training to ensure that your end users understand how to use the system.

Governance

In complex environments involving multiple areas of the business (e.g., HR and Finance), a structure is needed to ensure that changes are reviewed and approved before going into production. Before the changes are deployed to production, we recommend forming a team to review them, provide feedback, and even review test results.

Training

Workday does not have a one-size-fits-all approach to training. Some businesses have tech-savvy employees who can quickly adapt to Workday. Others are less tech-savvy and require additional assistance to get their users up and running. However, learning how to use Workday isn't the only issue. It's just as important (if not more) how Workday is configured for your environment. End users must not only know how to perform daily tasks, but also where to look for instructions on how to perform tasks that they may only do once a year.

For companies that use Workday, we've developed a number of very effective and cost-effective approaches. They can include simple instructions on the Workday screens where text can be added, Job Aids, more formal classes, or simple and straightforward videos that can demonstrate something in less than 30 seconds that would otherwise take pages and pages of writing.

Testing

Testing is a skill that every company should have in its Workday toolbox. Understanding how to test efficiently and effectively in Workday is critical whether you're going live, adding a new module, changing something in a business process, or simply managing your current environment. Despite their best efforts, Workday's regular releases occasionally break things, and almost all implementors will rely on your business users to test and verify what has been configured during your first implementation. Singularis has a team that understands how to get results quickly and has proven, structured methodologies for testing changes within Workday.

How to test data while your security model isn't fully functional in your development environment is another issue. How do you grant certain users access to the environment's configuration without granting them access to personal information that they are not permitted to see? We've devised innovative solutions to problems like these that we can tailor to your specific needs.

The ability to audit data is another requirement for testing. While this is critical for go-live or when you acquire another company, you should also be able to compare before and after data in your environment quickly. Singularis has developed tools to display data before and after loading, as well as before and after changes to the environment (tools that drastically reduce the effort it takes to do these data audits)

Job Aids

For Workday to reach its full potential, every employee in your company must understand how to contribute. Job Aids will help them find the information they need and keep your cloud business running smoothly.
